As a Linux Administrator, you are part of our global Compute & Operating Platforms team, based in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). You get to work in an agile Global IT Infrastructure team with focus on Linux Server Operating Systems engineering.

Global IT within Hilti is a truly global team with main hubs in Buchs (Switzerland), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Plano/Tulsa (USA). What does the role involve?
As a Linux Engineer your work includes:
- Maintaining and developing the server operating platform portfolio of Hilti.
- Leveraging your experience and know-how to ensure we maintain an evergreen landscape.
- Taking advantage of the latest innovations in the field while adhering to the industry best practices and security standards.
- Being involved in all stages of the server operating system’s lifecycle; starting from the release by the vendor and engineering it to fit our standards, leading up to daily operations and supporting application owners during the lifetime of the server, ending with the lifecycle replacement, and decommissioning of the servers.
- Working closely with architecture and cybersecurity teams, as well as vertical IT teams representing business units to understand and meet their requirements.
- Collaborating with other engineers in the team and lead Linux Server engineering activities and take responsibility of its performance.

What you need is:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or technical discipline with a CGPA of 3.0 and above. Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Linux Server Operating System engineering.
- Experience in scripting and managing Infrastructure-as-a-Code is an advantage.
- Know-how in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies is an advantage.
- Self-starter personality equipped with good analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Open mindset for learning new infrastructure technologies, scripting and agile tools and processes. Excellent communication and English skills with a motivation to work in a multicultural team located globally spanning multiple time zones.
