What's the role?

The Hilti Global Fellowship Program (also known as the Martin Hilti Foundation Internship) offers globally-minded, German-language-proficient early career professionals the opportunity to build their qualifications through an immersive international work experience.

The 12-month fellowship is based at Hilti’s Global Headquarters in Schaan, Liechtenstein and will focus in developing professionally within one of our corporate functions, though no formal related work experience or previous internship is required.

What does the role involve?

The Hilti Global Fellowship Program is a unique opportunity for early career professionals to gain valuable work experiences in an international corporate environment. At Hilti’s Global Headquarters in Liechtenstein, Fellows can strengthen their German language skills, learn to collaborate across nationalities and corporate functions, and learn valuable professional skills. Fellows will also gain a strong understanding of Hilti’s business and the construction industry, which will be valuable as they pursue future opportunities.

What do we offer?

  • 1-2 months of language training (depending on the participant’s original fluency) in Cologne, Germany to improve your knowledge of the German language and familiarize yourself with economy, culture and politics
  • 12 months of paid internship experience in Schaan, Liechtenstein, gaining valuable international work experience
  • Monthly compensation and standard accommodation of housing and health insurance, at a rate which is deducted from your monthly compensation
  • Hilti will cover your flight to Cologne, Germany and travel to Schaan, Liechtenstein, as well as all visa accommodations and a lump-sum housing allowance for your stay in Cologne
A subsequent full-time position in the Fellow’s home country is not guaranteed in the same function they worked in during the Fellowship period, but Hilti Inc. will strive to provide reasonable opportunity for consideration within the Account Management Development Program upon Fellowship completion.

What you need is:

  • Conversational fluency in German (as well as fluency in English)
  • Ability to work in the United States permanently, without sponsorship, upon completion of the fellowship
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant degree from an accredited college or university
  • Interest in working in one of the following areas: Business, Engineering, Finance, Logistics or Marketing
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the program
  • No more than 5 years of post-college work experience
  • Ability to travel and manage personal affairs independently in an international setting
