Get a head start while you’re still in college.
We strongly believe in the next generation of talent, so we offer many opportunities for you to begin your career while still attending school. If you’re a junior or graduate student studying business, engineering, finance, human resources, logistics, sales, marketing, communications or a related field, you may be eligible to join Hilti for a ten-week summer internship.
For sophomores interested in learning more about Hilti and our summer internship program, we offer a sophomore preview day each spring.
Intern with us
Spend your summer in an internship that combines your academic knowledge with our industry-leading training programs.
As a Hilti summer intern, you’ll work alongside our team members nationwide on projects that are relevant to your education, interests and career goals. You’ll participate in events and trainings that expose you to all levels of management, including orientation with our CEO, hands-on training and volunteer opportunities. At the end of the summer, you’ll wrap up with a final presentation to senior leaders about your experience and accomplishments.
Summer interns work 40 hours per week and are compensated accordingly, along with housing and travel arrangements based on need. In addition to our corporate offices in Plano and Irving, Texas, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mississauga, Canada, there are many field opportunities across North America.
Whether you’re honing your sales skills in the field with our account managers, overcoming technical challenges with our engineers or working on impactful projects in our corporate office, we’ll ensure your summer is well-spent.
"I did a bit of everything during my internship. One day I'm supporting engineers with calculations for a building design and the next I'm using Hilti tools and products to build walls to be burned in our firestop lab."
- Dan W., former Engineering Intern and current Division Manager, St. Louis, Missouri
All internships are posted in August and September, with most interviews taking place by December and some continuing into the early spring.
Visit Hilti’s career website and your campus career services where our internship and full-time opportunities will be posted in August.
We will review all online applications and select candidates who best fit our available positions for a first round interview. If applicable, students will be invited for a follow up interview with Hilti. After interviews are completed, recruiters will then extend internship and full-time offers. All students interviewed will be notified of their employment status after their last interview.
Get a sneak-peak at our culture, office and internships with Sophomore Preview Day.
It’s never too early to start thinking about where you’ll intern. That’s why we host a Sophomore Preview Day where students can visit the Hilti North America corporate office in Plano and get a glimpse of what to expect from a career with Hilti.
Sophomore Preview Day is a two-day event hosted each April in Plano, Texas with travel, accommodation and transportation provided to attending students. Sophomore Preview Day is invitation only. To learn more about the event, speak with a Hilti representative at your university career fair.
No mundane intern tasks here
You will not be stuck doing the mundane tasks with a Hilti internship. For example, Vidha put her marketing studies to good use in our HR group. She’s proud to be part of something that’s not only innovative but is constantly growing. Vidha’s recommendation to other college students interested in a summer internship – “Just apply, it will be so, so, worth it in the end.” We agree.
Don't be treated like an intern
Brock put his professional selling and entrepreneurship classes to work this year and was happy not being treated “like an intern.” Brock talks about his time in the field doing demonstrations, actually selling products, designing an interactive retail display and learning from experienced account managers.
Valuable work experience
Lindsey's summer internship at Hilti showed her a different side of engineering than what she’s learning in school. She really liked the Hilti culture where interns are part of the team and interact easily with anyone in the company. You, too, can make connections you can't find at any other company, but first you have to apply.
