This position provides support to the HR/Payroll team to ensure accurate and complete employee records and payroll results. Also responsible for calculation and remittance of U.S. and Canadian garnishments, union dues remittances and various union reporting.

What does the role involve?

Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager at Hilti North America (HNA), the Sr Payroll Specialist is responsible for providing leadership to affect and contribute to multiple business process improvements which have a direct impact on the successful recommendation and execution of the team's goals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to excel with executive management by performing audit of new hires to ensure all information in SAP is correct/complete, assisting senior analyst to monitor pay and adjustments for US & Canadian employees on leaves of absence, and Run payroll reports as needed for other Hilti departments/outside customers.

Audit for completeness/correctness all time entries for Diamond B and Sisco/Teamster
Union employees prior to running payroll, including attendance record-keeping in accordance with Union regulations
Assist senior analyst with weekly timecard audits of the US employee population
Maintain records and process garnishments for US and Canadian populations by analyzing and responding to court orders, initiating and setting up automated payments, and advising requestor and team member of garnishment status
Remit all union dues and related payments each month
Reconcile and remit all US & Canadian garnishments
Provides vacation coverage for the other payroll team members thereby requiring a broad range of general payroll knowledge
Communicate with all employee concerns in a professional manner
Other duties as assigned

What you need is:

  • Five (5) years of experience in payroll with garnishment experience preferred
  • Strong organizational abilities and PC skills required.
  • Knowledge of SAP HR/Payroll strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others, while maintaining a positive attitude, flexibility and taking initiative
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
