What's the role?
The role of Project Manager III is responsible for supporting the creation of innovative Hilti products & services to achieve and sustain long-term differentiation in the market. Technical understanding, combined with very good people and communication skills, are essential to perform this job. The Project Manager III leads a target-oriented interdisciplinary project team (marketing, development, supply, quality) ensuring project targets such as quality, development time, and product cost are achieved.

What does the role involve?
Manage complex new product & service development projects with a stage gate product development process, from definition phase to market success
Secure achievement of project targets regarding product value proposition, quality, timeline, and budget; prepare project roadmap including resource planning, steering, and alignment with line managers by providing transparency regarding the major project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Work closely with product manager to align customer requirements with Hilti product and production technologies, while maintaining differentiation versus competition
Lead and coordinate process of project target definition (Product System Vision, Product System Solution)
Partner with sourcing manager to achieve cost target, asset utilization, and cash conversion targets
Work closely with testing and approvals manager, and calculation engineer to understand testing and calculation process and how this impacts product performance and differentiation versus main competitors
Consult with quality manager to understand product risk and project risk analysis process and results, incorporate recommendations in overall project plan
Lead process of project activity/tasks management and setting priorities according project
Accept responsibility for Time to Money (TTM) project documentation of milestone information and decisions
Moderate workshops, team meetings, alignment processes, and conflict situations
Participate in international/interdisciplinary projects

What you need is:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; emphasis in mechanical or civil engineering
Master’s Degree combined with business experience, preferred
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in new product development projects, required
Experience as a project manager with proven track record in project management and in an international environment, preferred
Demonstrated ability to inspire interdisciplinary teams
High commitment, self-responsibility, and customer orientation
Passion for implementing & usage of state of the art project management tools
Excellent communication (written, oral, and presentation) skills on all levels; proven ability to communicate complex situations in an easy to understand manner
Strong multi-tasking ability
Fluency in English, required; bilingual preferred
Normal office conditions with occasional jobsite, manufacturing, and internal/external test-lab environments
Up to 20% domestic and international travel
Adverse Working Conditions:
Job requires occasionally walking on construction sites and uneven surfaces, and may include climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs during all seasons of the year
May be exposed to erratic temperature control (hot in summer, cold in winter)
Jobsites, test-labs, and warehouse environment may expose employee to excessively loud noises
Test-lab environment may involve working with heavy machinery and/or hazardous chemicals
Safety Equipment Required:
Hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and long pants required for working jobsites
Must observe and abide by all safety regulations as required by Hilti, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHSR), Occupational Safety & Health Administration, General Contractors, and external test-lab facilities
Must be able to walk on construction projects, climb ladders and scaffolding, and able to lift and carry as much as 65 pounds
Ear protection is strongly encouraged and may be required
