What's the role?
The USCDS Product Manager is responsible for managing the life cycle of the Hilti products at different stages of the product life cycle. This position is based in the United States (US) and acts as a key bridge between Customers, Global Business Units (BU), and Product Management team in Lead Markets. This position demands a high-level of market understanding (application, customer voices, construction trends, influencers, etc.) to be continually integrated in to strategy work streams and new product development. The Product Manager is responsible for developing comprehensive marketing and communication strategy for new products while nurturing products in the early development phase and ensuring the marketing KPIs are met.

What does the role involve?
Develop strong market understanding pertaining to the role of the Hilti relevant application, construction / industry trends, key stake holders and integrate market knowledge in to strategy work streams and new product development
Manage the assigned Hilti Product Portfolio through the different stages of the product life cycle as per Hilti PPM process guidelines
Actively drive marketing topics in the projects run independently in US Consumables Development and Supply (USCDS) and in projects run in collaboration with Global Business Units
Develop business case together with the lead markets
Define product requirements
Develop marketing strategy (value proposition, differentiation, product positioning, target customers and market reach) together with the lead markets
Develop comprehensive marketing communication package for both external and internal stakeholders
Manage phase-in/phase-out (if applicable)
Support the product launches in lead markets
Monitor and steer achievement of KPIs defined in the project (sales targets, profitability, etc.)
Deep dive to gain comprehensive understanding of the market environment and its dynamics by using one or multiple market research methods and translating these into a conclusive report highlighting Hilti relevance and opportunities
Develop the business of the responsible products in the markets by working closely with the Product Management team in the main markets

What you need is:
• Bachelor’s Degree, required; emphasis in marketing, business, or engineering
• Master’s Degree, preferred
• Minimum three (3) years’ combined sales or marketing experience in a technical/industrial or consulting environment, required; affinity to technical topics/products, preferred
• Proven success in motivating teams and exerting influence across multiple departments and geographies
• Proven effectiveness in developing and executing comprehensive business and launch plans
• Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze sales and market data, draw conclusions, and present findings
• Strong communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills, required
• Business strategy development experience, preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of Hilti products, product applications, and customer, preferred
• Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills, required
• Exposure to Data analysis tools, Social media, online tools, preferred
• Ability to learn quickly and operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment
Normal office conditions with occasional jobsite visits, required
Up to 30% domestic and international travel, required
Flexibility to adapt work schedule to different time zones (especially Europe), required
Adverse Working Conditions:
Job requires walking on construction sites and uneven surfaces, as well as climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs during all seasons of the year
Depending on geography employees may be exposed to adverse heat or cold
Construction jobsites may expose specialists to excessively loud noises
Safety Equipment Required:
Hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and long pants required for working jobsites; must observe and abide by all safety regulations as required by Hilti, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHSR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and General Contractors
Ear protection is strongly encouraged and may be required on some jobsites
Must be able to walk on construction projects, climb scaffolding, and lift and carry up to 65 pounds of Hilti product
