The role of the Materials Manager II is to successfully execute the principals of Strategic Supply Chain Management which directly contribute to Hilti’s objectives for sustainable, profitable growth.

What does the role involve?
Work closely with Engineering, Project Business Fulfillment and Execution, and Sales teams in regards to material requirements and flow.
Design and implement process to communicate ETO product portfolio to design engineers
Support systematic enhancements to elevate ETO productivity
Coordinate material requirements with product Material Manager
Track and communicate BOM change impact to ordering and project deliverable due dates
Serve as point of contact for internal and external customers contributing to the agreed upon sales strategies and the execution of stocking strategy in all locations for new product launches
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Global Supply Chain, Global BU, and Finance to achieve targeted sales and sustainable, profitable growth
Collaborate with Process Expert to develop, test, and implement new supply chain and materials management procedures while working to reduce resources expended to procure and distribute product
Manage lifecycle of product portfolio including item creation, master data maintenance, sales forecasts, promotion planning, and phase out
Develop accurate sales forecasts and ensure that Business Unit level forecasts are aligned with the Annual Sales Plan and manage history values within APO (MRP module) to find and correct outliers
Ensure timely ordering of product, while ensuring that MRP planned releases support financial goals
Manage product phase outs in conjunction with INP’s and/or product pruning
Identify goods for supplier returns and/or scrap obsolete products as required; drive marketing efforts to reduce obsolescence including management of the Overstock Program (OP)
Partner with the Business Unit or Quality Management blocking and recalling stock for inspection and/or rework as directed
Maintain all items within SAP and ensure system optimization to support local demand
Act as Process Champion for one or more key Materials Management business functions, through continuous process improvement and ownership of overall team competency in the specified area(s).
Primary Logistics representative for key Hilti customer(s) and partnered sales team members, providing value add service to the customer by driving resolution for operational issues, and bringing innovative solutions to support growth in the business relationship.

What you need is:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a supply chain environment with ordering and expediting materials with 2 years of Hilti Material Management experience.
Bachelor’s Degree required
MBA/Master’s Degree and/or professional logistics certification strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence business decisions with strong Entrepreneurial Business Partner (EBP) behaviors
Proven knowledge of SAP Inventory and ERP modules
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make recommendations
Proven ability to solve problems and make decisions
Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Suites
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to work with ERP systems including DRP/MRP and Inventory modules
Detail oriented, excellent follow-up and organizational skills required
Normal office conditions.
Up to 15% (domestic/international/both) travel, required.
