What's the role?

The role of the Machine Operator III provides supervision and leadership for the quality and timely production or orders. This position ensures compliance with defined quality control standards, performs required quality checks, and maintains a safe and secure working environment ensuring safe, on-time, completion of work assignments, while maximizing production operations to meet customer and inventory demands.

What does the role involve?

Supervise and lead a production shift to ensure the safe on-time completion of production orders
Schedule shift workload to meet production schedules and requirements
Manager, request, release, log and track production orders in SAP or other management system
Participate in planning of work and production (working hours, shifts, etc.) and pursuing continuous improvement of workplace, processes, and product quality
Perform defined quality checks, adhere to quality standards, and accurately record results
Follow standards processes to build and produce standards, and custom products to defined specifications in the Hilti production order, work instructions, and product drawings
Perform significant product modifications (cut, trim, coat, assemble) and perform customer product packaging to produce kits to PMO specifications
Ensure work areas, tools, and assigned equipment are maintained and organized in proper order and enable following shifts to resume operations a timely, safe and efficient manner
Schedule and ensure operator repairs and maintenance on equipment is performed, as required
Maintain continuous and accurate levels of inventory maintaining targeted accuracy
Confirm safety procedures and operating practices are observed, and that protection equipment is properly used and maintained

What you need is:

High School Diploma or GED, required
Minimum one (1) year experience in production type operations - competent and safe operation of heavy machinery and control systems in a scheduled conscious production environment
Ability to read and understand technical work instructions and job orders to competently perform required function and support production processes
Able to organize, direct, and lead a production team
Ability to perform visual inspections of Materials being produced
Advanced experience in the use of tools and the assembly, disassembly, or repair of complex mechanical systems
Basic computer skills, required; experience using Windows applications and SAP, preferred
Basic Math skills
Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and commitment
Forklift Certifications, required (once in position)
Working Conditions:
Workshop working conditions
Ability to work alternate shifts outside of normal operating business hours, required

Adverse Work Conditions:

Workshop environment subject to heat, cold, noise, dust, and other particles
Operate large equipment and machinery (i.e. forklifts, saws, production machines)
Working hours will normally not be on a day shift
Physical Requirements:

Frequently life up to 70 lbs.
Operate large equipment and machinery (i.e. forklifts, saws, production machines)
Stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive reaching, bending, and climbing

Safety Equipment Required:

Must observe and abide by all safety regulations as required by Hilti and Occupational Health and Safety Standards (OSHA)
Must wear steel toe boots, safety glasses, safety vest, and other safety equipment, as required, working in the facility and/or operating machinery
