CAD Operator - Fire Protection - Irving, TX
What's the role?
This position provides support to field personnel via development of CAD drawings as directed by the ISE Engineers:
1.) Create original designs
2.) Convert competitive designs and specifications to pro-Hilti designs and specifications
3.) Provide technical answers to questions related to the Installation Systems (IS) portfolio. All done in order to facilitate IS sales in helping to achieve planned sales growth.

What does the role involve?
Support field personnel via creation of 3D models to yield clear, complete, and accurate working documents/CAD drawings for Installation Systems (IS) from rough sketches and/or models provided by the ISE Engineers
Responsible to check the dimensions and relationships of components to each other and to the whole
Maintain ISE Drawing Database and Standards for accuracy and completeness according to Hilti International guidelines (CID and drafting standards)
Promote “Services & Support” initiative driven by HNA & HAG Installation Systems (IS) Business Unit
Mentor ISE – CAD Operator I and CAD Interns
Proactively interface with HAG Drawing Administration (FII) to resolve any hardware/software problems

What you need is:
Associate’s degree in Design Drafting Technology or equivalent required
Proficient in 3D AutoCAD with thorough understanding of multiview orthographic projections
Aptitude to read and understand blueprints, construction specifications, and documents required
General dimensioning and tolerance principles required
Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, contractors, and Hilti personnel through verbal and written response required
Ability to effectively use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Ability to organize and utilize large amounts of reference information both in hardcopy and electronic files required
Ability to function effectively on teams required
2 years’ minimum relevant professional drafting experience required
Minimum of 1 year of Hilti ISE – CAD Operator experience preferred
Working knowledge of Hilti Installation Systems (IS) portfolio required
Working knowledge of industry related construction materials, methods, and practices required
*Preferably, internal candidates will have been in current role for at least 18-24 months
